One of the major challenges of biological pest control is that it requires a substantial amount of human management role for proper inoculation of the natural enemy and its control which otherwise might have a negative impact on the native ecosystem.
• Watershed Management: With an ever increasing agricultural productivity over the decades, the requirement of water for irrigation has been thumping, because of which proper watershed management has become a need of the hour. It has been observed that water usage rate has exceeded the rate of replenishment of the sources, to a large extent. However, agriculture, though being an emission source has the potential of reducing its footprint by using cultivated soil as a GHG offsetting tool provided better management strategies are identified and adopted. In this regard, high yielding varieties, organic farming, biological crop protection techniques, and application of precision irrigation technologies (as discussed above) can be implemented to reduce the carbon footprint and simultaneously enhance the food chain of the world.
Secondary proposal for sustainable agricultural production
Along with the key intervention redesigning as discussed in above some of the secondary proposal that can be additionally implemented to cater objectives of sustainable agriculture are:
• Promotion of collective farming for more independence of the marginal farming community and the farm labourers for better quality of life.
• Implementation of solar farms for availability of clean energy to carry out farm activities.
• Plant tissue culturing and clonal propagation of crops to produce disease resistant and high yield variety.

Agricultural sector is in utter need of a sustainable makeover to meet the demand of an ever-increasing population. Moreover, proper value addition in the food chain is necessary to ensure good health and well being of mankind. In this regard, proper identification of integrated technological management and customized adoption of the combination based on the necessary parameters will can prove to be instrumental for the makeover. Though implemented to greater degree in many regions, majority of the farmlands around the globe are still in a state of complete oblivion.
