Social Status contributes to academic success in schools if the student is the head girl or boy then they have the higher status which can give them rewards now and in the future. If you have higher social status than you feel like you have to set a good example for the lower status and do well in school. Sources of power in groups are linked to the role each individual has in the group. If the person has a huge role in the group they will have majority of the power than the person who doesn’t really have a say in the group. Compliance is a change in behaviour or attitude but not a fundamental or long-lasting change. Peer selection is friendships formed in adolescence that are sometimes based on shared attitudes, behaviours and views, this can contribute to successful human performance in academics if the persons friends they hang out with all share the same good attitude towards getting excellent grades and the view that getting a good education is serious. Biological factors help students see that if they get good grades that good things will happen in return, like they may have the chance to win prizes. Personality contributes to the success how if the person if competitive then they will want to be the best and get the best grades. Social psychology how with peer selection is key in being academically successful as if you are friends with people that have the same educational values. And finally social, historical and political influences add to academic success for the reason that no one likes to fail and if there is a way you can win then why not give it all you got to succeed to achieve your highest
