Biological Basis Of Behavior Video Analysis

The Biological Basis of Behavior textbook did an excellent job explaining neural plasticity. Neural plasticity is the brain's ability to change in response to the organism's experience's and environment (Morris, 2013). However, this video went more in detail and explanation. For instance, this video detailed synaptic pruning which is the process of getting rid of unused connections that we don't have a use for any longer. The brain also is able to re-use connections for instances of short term memory. When learning new things your neurons actually make entirely new synapses. I enjoyed the example used in the textbook of the Rosenzweig experiment of lab rats. Rats living in enriched environments with a variety of objects showed

I found watching the video to be very interesting and fascinating. It was so weird watching myself listen to others. I noticed that a lot of the time I was not completely focused on the conversation when I was not the one talking. It was very easy to tell I would get distracted and my mind was wandering. I think that I could work on my emotional support response strategy.…

This video talks about the debate of nature vs nurture. This video also talks about feral children who are children who are razed with little to no human contact this video also talks about the Jim twins. Flor Acevedo Identifying Behavioral Styles. Rational Style: When I was reading the characteristics of this group, I realize that I am part of it. As the textbook explained on chapter 6, when you interact with people, you found yourself bounding with some more than with others. For example, as a customer service representative, it would be easier to communicate with this type of style because I feel like I am part of it. The most accurate characteristics I found to be predominant are: dislike calling attention, avoid conflict and anger, listen and observe more than talk, and like leisure activities that involve people (often family) because it makes us feel comfortable.…

The core principles of applied behavior analysis that i will be discussing are: applied, behavioral, analytic, technological, conceptually, systematic, effective and generality Applied- Practices that are used to change your behavior or the child's behavior(Baer, D.M., Wolf, M.M., & Risley, T.R. 1968). .Some ways of looking at students behavior is by figuring out the function behind it. If you figure out the function there's a better chance of shaping the behavior into a positive one. Behavioral- Focuses on the behavior in need of change and how its measured, typically focusing on the action instead of non verbal things(Baer, D.M., Wolf, M.M., & Risley, T.R. 1968)..…

If that is the case, then are our sense wrong or are the sources not reliable in the first place?…

In the video, the diver, Greg, who had mental health issues still accomplished many things that I will never be able to do. The man in politics who also had mental issues was still able to run and accomplish many things with allowing mental health issues to have the same availability of treatment as other health issues.…

Learning is the acquisition of new information or knowledge and memory is the retention of learned information. The Canadian psychologist, Donald Hebb pointed out that memories can result from subtle alteration in synapses, and these alterations can be widely distributed in the brain. Hebb reasoned in his book “The Organisation of Behaviour” that the internal representation of an object ( for example a circle drawn on a piece of paper ) consists of all the cortical cells activated by the stimulus ( the cell assembly ). All the cells in such an assembly are all interconnected by reciprocal connections. The internal representation is maintained in short term memory as long as the activity reverberated through the connection.…
