Biography Of Saint Genesius Of Rome

The saint whose name I have chosen for my conformation name is that of Saint Genesius of Rome. Saint Genesius was an actor in a traveling troupe that went around Rome. It was in these plays that he and his fellow actors would mock the Christian faith. Emperor Diocletain of Rome was in attendence one night, when Saint Genesius was performing a skit that made fun of baptism. Saint Genesius played the character being baptized, and at the moment his character was baptized, Saint Genesius saw a vision of angels coming down upon him with a large book filled with all of his sins. When the fake baptism was over, Saint Genesius asked to be baptized for real while on stage. Diocletian became outraged because of this, and ordered Saint Genesius to be beheaded. Genesius is considered teh patron saint of actors, lwayers, comedians, dancers, and musicians. His feast day is August twenty-fifth. …show more content…
I try to be as comedic as I can without stepping my bounds in all of my endevours. Many of my best friends have became my friends because of a common sense of humor. Another reason I have chosen Saint Genesius' name is his remorse for his past and his return to Christianity. I strive to do this in my daily life, and am constantly trying to better my relationship with the Lord. For these reasons, I can see a striking similarity between myself and Saint
