The killer of Kennedy was a 24-year-old man named Lee Harvey Oswald. Oswald fired the shots from an upstairs window on the Texas School Book Depository building and hit the president twice. Minutes later after Oswald shot Kennedy, he tried to escape. An officer, named J.D. Tippit, stopped to question Oswald for being suspicious. Oswald then panicked and shot Tippit and killed him as bystanders witnessed the murder (Goode 16). Bystanders turned Oswald in and he was accused of killing Kennedy. Oswald was then taken into custody. While there, Oswald would not admit to anything, he was very stubborn and turned all the questions into a joke and gave officers no answers.
