Biography Of Clara Barton

Clara Barton was born in Oxford Massachusetts on December 25, 1821 in and was a giving and unselfish women. That is why I think that Clara Barton should be on our currency and represent our country along with are other repusenitives of the United States. Some of the important things that this brave women should be notest for is she was a teacher in the time most teacher were men, risked her life bringing supplies to the solders on the field during the Civil War ,and “she was one of the first women to gain employment in the federal government.” She also founded the Red Cross at the age of 60, in 1881 and was in lead OF the Red Cross for 23 years. Clara Barton worked as a clerk for the government. The war had just begun when the troops started to pour into the city . The residents and the troops were confused about the troops being recruited. To provide personal assistance to the brave men that ware the U.S uniform and the wounded, and the hungry. She started vary slowly in the making of the Red Cross by taking supplies to young men that have been fighting in the war against the southern sympathizers. In the unfinished Capitol building they were temporarily homed and most of those men in there she considered them as her children she even prayed, listened, and read to them in most people think she did this do to that she never had children or got married because of her biusse, loving, and giving
