John Lennon is known as the creator of the Beatles, a rock God, and an inspiration to millions. He was able to shake the music industry with new music that would never be forgotten and a kind heart that was giving and passionate for world peace. John Lennon was an intelligent, hard-working man that greatly impacted society by encouraging anti-war protests and supporting the peace movement, as well as developing the world of rock n’ roll while catching the hearts of his fans with his famous band The Beatles and their extraordinary music.

Julia remarried, but still visited Lennon often. His mother was always a very strong supporter of his musical talents even though his father neglected them. Growing up, this made Lennon strive to pursue what he loved to do. Tragically, Julia died in 1958 after she was hit by a car (“John Lennon.”Bio.). Lennon attended Dovedale Junior as a child, Quarry Bank High School as a teenager, and finished his schooling at Liverpool’s College of Art (“John Winston Lennon.”).
At age 16 Lennon was highly inspired by music artists Lonnie Donegan, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, and Elvis Presley. With this inspiration, Lennon created his own band called the Quarry Men. At a church event in July of 1957, Lennon met Paul McCartney (“John Lennon.”Bio.). Shortly after their meeting, Lennon invited McCartney to join the group. Not long after McCartney joined the group, he introduced George Harrison to Lennon. In 1958 Harrison and Stuart Sutcliffe joined the band. The new group was in need for a drummer, therefore, Pete Best joined the band in 1960 (“John Lennon.”Bio.).
