Athletics are a major part of who I am. My entire youth is filled with both organized and unorganized sports. From racing my cousins to early morning basketball games at the local YMCA. My father, and his side of the family are mainly responsible for this love of athletics. Some of them even found a way to allow sports to catapult them into financially successful lives. Though those few were high school and college legends, I have a path of my own that has made me much more than just an athlete.
My father’s side of the family had a passion for multiple sports. One of my uncles ran a minor league baseball program in my hometown. I was about 6 years old at the time, and baseball was my first sport. I remember enjoying it, and not being too bad

I was a starter, and had plenty of fun. The next year was my time to move up to Junior Varsity (JV). The players were bigger, stronger, and faster and required a good understanding of schemes. This year of football was my worst. I quit multiple times. The 14 year old me was not strong enough mentally or physically.
I sat out two years after my JV season. Football was not my friend at the moment, and the time off gave me time to grow. At 16 years old I caught wind of a new football team being started in the city. The coach would be the same as my JV year. I took this challenge head on, and suited up for that year.
We were call the Akron Chargers. We wore powder blue jerseys, and white helmets with lightning bolts. The team was composed of a bunch of childhood friends. We were also very talented. So we had both the chemistry and the players to execute. I also was wiser in the ways of football, and had started a new trend of doing push up before bed. I was ready, but never thought we would go as far as we

My freshman year carved the game into my heart. Those guys were my brothers, and we played through some pretty low and high moments. After that my football career at Buchtel was shaky at best. Numerous reasons come to mind, but I only like to talk about the success.
My senior year of football was one I’ll always remember. One of my most memorable moments occurred during the last game of the season. It was freezing cold, I think I even remember hail showers. The opposing team had the ball on our 15 yard line threatening to score a touchdown. The ball is snapped, and I see a screen play developing to my side. I shadow the flanking running back with intentions of making a big play. The quarterback was under heavy pressure, so he over threw the ball. My eyes opened wide as I broke on the ball. I then intercepted the over thrown ball, and assured that they had no chance of scoring.
I played some pretty good football my senior season, and even got recruited to play football here at NDC. I’m a blessed man. I got to play football on the collegiate level. I consider myself a student of the game. I also consider myself a student of life, and look forward to what’s in

I was never a sporty kid. For the majority of my childhood, my hobbies have included reading, playing video games, and other generic nerd activities. If you had asked me if I wanted to play a sport, I would have laughed at the prospect, so I surprised even myself when I answered yes to my mother’s inquiry about joining my school’s new flag football team. I worried about it for the weeks leading up to the first practice, but eventually I decided “Why not? It may end up being fun.”…

Growing up I used to see my friends come home from little league practice everyday on school days and that really used to make me mad. They used to get home when the street lights were on and we were not able to come outside and play at that time.…
