Bioecological Model Essay

A bioecological model is a way of representing a specific person’s environment and interactions in human development. In my bioecological model, I show the relationships, environments and influences that have affected my life throughout the years as I have developed into the person I am today. In this model, the center represents the microsystem and how my family and community influenced me while growing up. When I was younger, I lived with my grandparents, my parents and my sister. It was a full house that never seemed to quiet down. It was full of chaos and figuring out how everyone was getting to where they needed to go. I joined sports teams, after school programs and clubs. I reached high school and started to choose activities on my own that I loved. I put all of my energy and effort into being successful in to those activities everyday. I fell in love with the game of soccer and being a goalie. In high school our team was very successful and it was very rare we lost a game. Our friends, family, faculty, students and alumni would come support us throughout the season. Chairs would be lined up along the field a couple hours in advance just to have a good seat. Our community was behind us and was a big support system. They were the reason why we worked so hard and wanted to make them proud. My community from a small town, and sports team, gave me qualities I would have never developed if I did not fall in love with soccer. It showed me how to build relationships, good teamwork, leadership, being a support system for others and to never give up. My experiences and interactions with my community proved that every time I stepped on the field I could look over at the fans and know that those people were there to love, support and cheer for me and my team. It made me a self-motivated, hard worked who never gives up without a fight. My community influenced me by being my support system so one day I could become a leader and support someone in their
