Outside of the classroom, I have always had an interest in marine life and believe this is an opportunity to further my knowledge of this vast and amazing underwater world.
I believe cultural learning is the best way to apply what is said in the classroom to the real world. After eye-opening service trips to places like Guatemala and Africa, I have learned that the most memorable learning comes from real life experiences as it inspires so many emotions, senses, and connections that it is impossible to forget. I like to keep things organized and on task and moving, especially when an assignment must be done in a timely manner. I find this role as a leader is also displayed on the soccer field as I am a communicator. My optimal role when working with a group, however, is leading by example and doing what is best for the team/group. I seek to get the best out of my teammates/group members whether that means encouraging them to speak up or pushing them to be their best.
