American enjoys a drink or two with a friend as a social event. Why does the government feel a person who can be in the military isn’t mature enough to have a drink? Binge drinking is a huge issue among young adults who are not able to drink in a public place. Prohibiting these young adults from drinking will not make them stay away from alcohol. The process of getting the law passed will take much work with our United States government. While there are many reasons an eighteen-year-old soldier who comes home from war can’t have a drink, how the law will be changed is the most important aspect.
