Net sales for the month ended August 31, 2016 increased .8% to $584k from $579k in August 2015. Bimba sales comprised 65.5% of total sales in August 2016 versus 77% in August of 2015. Sales to Panduit, D&N Bending, Concentric and S&S Cycle exceeded prior year by $48k collectively.
Net purchases remained relatively flat year-over-year despite increased volume in August 2016. Both years benefited from lower aluminum, steel, and brass pricing because of the ailing metal market. We continue to monitor aluminum pricing and are prepared to extend our aluminum contract should a long-term contract prove advantageous. August 2016 turnings revenue included $23k in brass scrap.
