What is Bimatoprost?

Bimatoprost 3 ml is a generic drug that belongs to the class of drugs called prostaglandin analogs. Bimatoprost is used for treating certain types of glaucoma that add pressure in the eyes and ocular hypertension that usually occurs in people as they grow older. Glaucoma is not curable, but Bimatoprost prevents further damage to the eye from vision impairment. Bimatoprost eye drops reduce the pressure in the eye by increasing the amount of fluid flowing from the eye. It is used in the eye exclusively and do not take it with your nose and mouth.

Bimatoprost Lumigan 0.03 is also marked as a generic version of Latisse which is used for the treatment of an inadequate number of lashes and is FDA approved. This eye drop is for those persons who have short eyelashes. This eye drop provides darker, longer, and fuller eyelashes.

However, the persons who are pregnant, breastfeeding, and is allergic to the components of Bimatoprost are not recommended to use Bimatoprost drops. You have to contact your health care provider first if any of these apply to you. Ask him if there is a chance that Bimatoprost drops will interact with other medicines that you are using. You need to discuss the benefits and the risk that you will encounter once you start using this product.
