The song “Some Gave All” sung by Billy Ray Cyrus is a song about the patriotism of soldiers and the American liberties they protect. The song reminds us of the sacrifice that American soldiers make in order to secure our freedom. Americans are proud of their freedom and sometimes need reminding of the people that protect their freedom. The soldier in the song, Sandy Cane, reminds the audience that, “if you ever think of me think of all your liberties/ And recall some gave all” (10-11). Sandy Cane is referring to the lives lost during battle and the liberties they protected. American pride themselves on having freedom and personal rights.
