Billy Bush's Ignorance

Decent Essays
This article is a perfect example of the ignorance that surrounds the Last Fridays release of The Trump Video. The article suggest that Billy Bush was NBC's scapegoate after the release of the video, and that the video was released as a strategic way to bringing down Trump. I don't disagree that Billy Bush was let go as a result of the video. I also don't disagree that it was strategically released with the intention of tarnishing Trump. However, I do disagree with authors logic. In fact, I find it incredibly frustrating how the author, handle name WILMOT PROVISO, displays his own ignorance in his misunderstanding of the vile things that Donald Trump was said. In this article, PRIVSO point out that Billy Bush is a slime-ball, quoting him as saying, "...'Man, you look …show more content…
most notorious body part". Providing a video to show Jennifer Lopez's discomfort to the question. Further demonstrating PROVISO's ignorance to the difference between being a creep, and bragging about non-consensual physical contact.

The idea that the comments quoted above are on anyway the same as Trump's comments is plain ignorant. "I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything." Donald J. Trump "Grab ’em by the pussy. You can do anything." Donald J. Trump These comments are not locker room talk, not harassment, they are not cat calls, and they are not things you hear everyday. These comments are about sexual assault, non-consensual contact, the promotion of rape culture. If you hear people talk like this and say nothing you contribute to the problem.

This was a powerful individual speaking freely and openly about sexually predatory behavior, and actually bragging about kissing and groping women, using language so obscene that many of us were worried about our children hearing it when we turn on the TV. And I have to tell you that I listen to all of this and I feel it so personally, and I’m sure that many of you do too, particularly the women. The shameful comments about our bodies.…

Sexual harassment has always been, and still is, an extremely controversial topic. Some people tend to think that sexual harassment cases are all stemmed from lies made up by victims to gain attention or sympathy. Whichever side one takes, the fact that sexual harassment and sexual discrimination laws play an important part in many aspects of society still stands. From the beginning of time, humans have struggled in deciding what rights certain groups should or should not have, and, slowly, everyone started to be set upon the same plane.…
