He doesn’t meet his needs of safety since the laws doesn’t protect much of the colored people. His security isn't very efficient due to his financial stability is like a switch, if he is fired from the barn, that would mean he would be left homeless. He does not meet his social needs since his insecurity drives him away from people, leaving little social interactions with others. Billy’s self-esteem also doesn’t meet the requirements of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs since his disability presents him as a weak man to others and seems to not met many achievements the past years. Billy’s self-Actualization needs aren't met since he has no realization of potential and refuses to grow in an psychological way. He stands at the level of Safety since he doesn’t meet those requirement. His physical needs are met, which is below the level security, and he does meet the needs that are after the level of security needs on Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.
