To create the piece, Jones used the stories his mother expressed to him as a younger boy. This piece involves violence, nudity, repitition, fierce, powerful, gental, risky, and gestural movement. He spoke upon his own experience and with racism and worked to incorporate this experience along with his company members’ experiences into the piece. Many of their expressions included body percussions such as dialogue, noise with their mouth, or beats on the floor to demonstrate fighting through their obstacle. Bill T.
