William Sanford Nye also known as Bill Nye. Born in Washington, D.C on November 27, 1955. He graduated from Cornell University and studied astronomy, he graduated with a B.S in mechanical engineering in 1977. Which he then moved to seattle to work as a mechanical engineer for Boeing. Bill Nye then eventually became a comedy, show writer and performer. Nye become the face of Bill Nye the science guy which was an award-winning educational program that taught science to preteenagers. Nye Remains a popular figure and vocal member of the science community.

Bill Nye
Attended a private school called SidWell Friends School which he then enrolled into Cornell University. Upon Bill earning his Bachelor in Science degree he went on to begin his career at the Boeing Company in Seattle, where he lived for many years. “ Nye developed a hydraulic pressure resonance suppressor that is still used in the Boeing 747.“

Bill Nye got his start in comedy, after winning a Steve Martin look-alike contest. Nye worked as an engineer by day and a standup comedian by night, he would “..eventually quit his day job and became a comedy writer and performer on the show Almost Live,” it was there Nye earned his nickname “The Science Guy”. After that Seattle’s PBS KCTS-TV had produced the show BIll Nye the science guy. Which is Nyes hit educational television program that aired from September 10th, 1993, to Jun 20, 1998.

Bill then hosted a tv show which aimed to teach science to preeteens, each of Bill Nye's shows had up to 100 episodes that was focused on a specific topic. The show won 19 Emmy Awards after five-years of running, “ Nye personally received seven Emmys, for writing , performing and
