The richest person in the world is a title coveted by all due to the extreme wealth, recognition and the sphere of influence that accompanies it, but can only be held by one- Bill Gates. It is a renowned name known from here in the United States all the way to Australia that will be forever embedded in history. Born William Henry Gates III on October 28, 1955 in Seattle, Washington, the sixty year old phenomenon is still living and is revered globally for his revolutionary contributions to the realm of computers and technology. His upbringing and activities as a child have greatly impacted the man he is today. He was raised in an upper middle-class family as a middle child with two sisters, Kristianne and Libby. On behalf of a local company, the students could access their primitive computer through a teletype terminal, for a price. Gates was enthralled by this machine and its capabilities, and devoted his free time and money into maneuvering it. Compared to the rest of his class, he manifested great aptitude for technology. Eventually, his supply of money ran dry, and the adolescent resorted to hacking into the system to avoid abandoning his favorite hobby. Once he was caught by the provider and the school district, his privileges were revoked and he was temporarily placed on probation. The school then acknowledged his exceptional skill in terms of computers, and sought his help in debugging the program. During this time, Gates made lots of progress and developed a variety of program. In addition, it was here at Lakeside that he crossed paths with Paul Allen, a classmate who became his future business partner and lifelong friend. Despite their personality differences, they found a common ground in computers and mischievously ditched classes together to program in the lab. Their endeavors were very successful and when Gates was fifteen, the two released “Traf-O-Data,” which measured Seattle traffic patterns and profited twenty-thousand dollars off of this program. Gates and Allen wanted to continue their business ventures and start a joint company, but Bill proceeded to further his education at Harvard University and contemplated pursuing a career as a lawyer that mirrored that of his
