Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft Incorporated is one the world’s biggest technological contributors. He carries out many traits that make him a game changer such as hardworking, innovative, competitive, wholehearted and passionate. Even when bringing new innovative technology to the table, Gates is also a softhearted philanthropist who strives to make the world a better place. As Gates expanded his technology, his CEO position required him to travel the world, exposing him to world poverty and sickness. Just as he did with technology, he became an innovator in world relief organizations. His innovative mind and life experiences have helped him shape the world and who he is today.

It can be expressed in the quote “Bill Gates has given a total of 44 billion dollars to charities around the world”(Bill Gates). In 2000, Bill Gates stepped down from the job of CEO of Microsoft Inc. to spend more time working on his charity. Author Ruth Strother stated “They both have a strong work ethic, and they both believe that giving back to the community is important”(Strother 22). Gates grew up in a family where giving instead of receiving and excelling were very important in daily life. Because giving back was important in his daily life, Bill was willing to give almost all of his time and money devoted to his foundation and worldly needs. Gates quotes “Money has no utility to me beyond a certain point. Its utility is entirely in building an organisation and getting the resources out to the poorest in the world”(Gates). Money is not what matters to Gates and his family, helping the world evolve and change so that we all live better lives is what is in it for him.

Bill Gates, the passionate, hardworking, innovative guy who strives to make an impression in the world surely did with his many major contributions. Giving to charity, helping world poverty, and bringing technology to a new level are some of Gates’ many contributions to the world. These are characteristics that make him a major game changer.
