Bill Gates is a very wealthy man; although he did not finish college, he still had a goal and did everything to obtain that goal. His family was very wealthy and paid for his schooling, so he had a lot of money to back him up. Gates and his wife are also very charitable people giving millions of dollars to organizations of their choosing. Bill Gates is one of the most influential men in many people’s lives today because of his achievements. Bill Gates was born in 1954 when no one in the world owned a personal computer. His father and mother were very wealthy people; his father, William Henry Gates II, being a lawyer in a well known law firm in Philadelphia and his mother, Mary Maxwell Gates, was a school teacher (Schuman 12). He and one of his high school classmates, Paul Allen, were fascinated with what computers they had, which were not a lot (Schuman 7). They strived to create and evolutionize the use of technology beyond what they had previously been associated with (military and large businesses). They worked on many computers and then one day Ed Roberts gave up on building calculators and switched his sights to computers.
