As all Americans know William Jefferson Blythe III Clinton as Bill Clinton, they also know President Clinton was the 42nd President of the United States of America. He was in office for two terms in 1993 through 2001 after the Cold War, which ended 1991. He was the last president in the 20th century. President Clinton was elected president in 1992 and won against George H. W. Bush. I was interested on doing a research paper on President Clinton because he helped Americans who needed health insurance and made an effort to change the country. In addition to the history of President Clinton, he was born on August 19, 1946 in Hope, Arkansas. President Clinton was the third generation with the same name “William Jefferson Blythe III”. He was part of the Democratic Party. He was influenced by Nelson Mandela. Mandela encountered Bill Clinton by stating to let go of hatred. As being democratic, he will feel hatred from the cabinet who were part of Republican Party. President Clinton won his presidency with his fellow vice-president Al Gore, who served as the U.S. Senator. The first female who was elected for the position of U.S attorney general was Janet Reno. Another first female for the position of Secretary of State was sworn into office was Madeleine Albright during President Clinton's terms. During President Clinton's presidency, he accomplished to reform the U.S. healthcare system. He created the universal coverage where Americans were ensured of having health insurance. The Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) was signed by President Clinton in 1993. FMLA is companies providing employees to have three months worth of unpaid medical emergencies. The First Lady, Hillary Clinton was the head of the healthcare industry committee, which was a failed act by Congress. President Clinton also accomplished another act, the Violence Against Women. He also reformed crimes, violence with guns, education and welfare. As Presidents are usually signing acts, President Clinton also signed North American Free Trade Agreement which eradicated trade barriers between Canada, U.S. and Mexico.
