As stated in the article “that the ability to speak another language is important for a lot of thing. But it alone does not guarantee that (the teaching) is linguistically appropriate or pedagogically sound and strong (pg.2).” Therefore I agree with the statement just because you can speak another language doesn’t mean that you will be able to teach others how to correctly learn it. However educators still need to learn another language because it beneficial for the children to have support in their native language. Although the problem in California is that the “number of early education worker who speak other languages hasn’t kept pace with the large number of young children who are learning English (pg.2).” Therefore there are a number of educators that can help the children just that they are outnumbered by the growth of students. Also “adding to the problem is that many workers who do speak languages other than English were based in home and daycare center jobs, rather than serving as preschool teachers or directors (pg.3).” Thus these two programs in California need to do what’s best for the children and that is to provide them with educators that have some knowledge in their native
