The characters puses both positive and negative traits that aspects to their characters trait, the most important is intelligence. First, Tolkien's characters have many positive character traits. In the book bilbo accepted to go inspect the trolls. Even when he new it was dangerous he went to inspect the strange lite. Bilbo also invited gandalf to tea even though he didn't like him.
