Bilbo Lessons

“The past is where you learned the lesson. The future is where you apply the lesson.”- Unknown. Personally I have learned many lessons from the past and I am trying to apply the lessons I have learned in my life. Upon reading “The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tolkien, they sing many songs and riddles, and it is these riddles that enhance the reader’s understanding of the story. Most of the songs are little stories within the novel. Throughout the history of Middle Earth (where the novel takes place) many tragic incidents have happened and caused much grief upon its inhabitants. Nevertheless, looking back at the songs and riddles, these people of “Middle Earth” have learned the lessons of their forebears. Like the dwarves in the Hobbit Bilbo is trying
