Bilbo Journey In The Hobbit

Many different species of creatures form as a team to get a prize, but it did not turn out as easy as they imagined. Each person held an important and valuable responsibility in the journey. All they needed to do was get the treasure that Smaug had taken possession of. It used to belong to Thorin’s father and grandfather, and now now, Thorin is devoted to the promise that he will get it back. With Bilbo, The Hero, Gandalf, The Mentor, and Smaug, The Shadow, the expedition will be full of suspense and difficulty. Bilbo serves as The Hero in The Hobbit. At the beginning of the story, he acted oblivious about this entire journey. “He liked visitors, but he liked to know them before they arrived, and he prefered to ask them himself” (J.R.R Tolkien, The Hobbit, page.10). Bilbo did not expect all of the dwarves at his house at all, in fact, it kind of flustered him. After a day, Bilbo traveled up his way to the mountain with the thirteen dwarves. The first set-back they had included running into goblins. Whenever there is a crisis, Gandalf, is there to save them. “Then Gandalf lit up his wand. Of course it was Gandalf: but just then they were too busy to ask how he got there” (J.R.R Tolkien, The Hobbit, page.73). Guidance, is what Gandalf provides, to make sure the dwarves and hobbit stay safe and on task. “Gandalf thought of most things; and though he could not do everything, he could do a great deal for friends in a tight corner” (J.R.R Tolkien, The Hobbit, page.73).
