Bilbo Greed In The Hobbit

Decent Essays
The plot of The Hobbit is about taking risks and adventures, but also receiving the consequences. In the beginning of The Hobbit, Bilbo was timid, and childlike, but through the middle, he changes into more of an outgoing personality and in the end becomes very heroic. Bilbo has his greedy side, but then again who doesn't? Everyone has something greedy about them, like food or attention. The ones you’d think wouldn’t have a greedy side do, like that old lady in starbucks? She might be greedy for revenge against her childhood nurse. Maybe you could be greedy for money, fame, perhaps a new house or even a new car. Bilbo, on the other hand, is greedy for knowledge, the idea of adventures and wanting to know more, and keeping such great things

He is chosen to become a thief and leaves his very comfortable hobbit hole to join thirteen people on an adventure. In the beginning, the hobbit is constantly getting the group in trouble and they start doubting him.
