I live in portland. The city has transformed a lot over the years. Biking is the new norm in, and if you don’t bike what is the point of living in portland. Bikers are vehicles now and they have same sized lanes as the cars. They have their own special traffic lights and have all the advantages of a car plus the perks of a pedestrian. Though I have lived here all my life I am still not used to them riding all over the streets. They still seem to fill me with anger. I don’t like bikers they stress me out. They should be restrained to the sidewalks where I don’t have to deal with them.

There is no biker test to see if you can follow the laws of the road. You don’t have to pay all the fees for testing and getting a license. You also do not need vehicle insurance or to purchase new tags once they expire. I think that they should at least require license plate numbers. If someone gets injured by a cyclist not much is probably going to happen compared to being hit by a car even if both are hit and runs. There is not much accountability on the bikers end especially if they can’t be identified.
They ignore the fact that laws are put in place for their protection and by breaking them constantly they are putting stress on drivers to compensate for their lack of regard for others on the road. They have what I call the pedestrian pass. A pedestrian pass is thinking that since they are exposed to the same dangers of pedestrian they get the perks of them too. But they shouldn 't get the pedestrian pass.
If you are going to be on the road then what affects a driver on the road should affect you on the road too. All these things drive me insane while rolling down the street but mostly because I like fairness. If you want to be treated like a vehicle then behave like one.
