Biggest Pet Peeves

Improved Essays
I believe that I am the type of person that gets irritated easily , every little thing that someone does makes me somewhat angry. One of my biggest pet peeves is when I’m at school in between classes trying to get to my next class and couples are standing in the middle of the hallway kissing each other like they haven’t seen each other in years.
I understand that couples love each other but one thing I don’t understand is why they have to stand in the middle of the hallway. They don’t even have enough respect to move over to the side of the hallway and start kissing they just stop and start kissing each other wherever they are standing.
I remember being at school walking down the hall going to class and I was walking behind this couple I was

This assignment offers you the occasion to write a letter to the editor of any newspaper, business, or organization that you choose. Typically, these types of letters are written in response to articles in such publications, or in response to some local issue that might be also connected to a national one. Readers also respond to the inclusion of specific ads, especially their design or content, in publications. So, to begin with, consider an issue about which you have a strong opinion or “pet peeve”—something that bothers you or something that you think ought to be changed. Eventually you should also read carefully through one of your chosen publications—the one to which you will address your letter.…

In my ninth grade year at school I had a friend named Nick. Nick and I went to a school were it was required to wear a uniform at all times. However, Nick found a way to not wear his uniform shirt by wearing a jacket with our school logo over a normal shirt. At end of the school year, when everybody was more lax about their attire, our school resource officer was sent to go around the school and find people who were out of uniform. The resource officer started her search in my English class, and that was when I remembered my friend and his lack of uniform shirt.…

Most people have trouble distinguishing deceit from lying. Both are prevalent today, whether the intent is there or not. Deception is the intent to mislead when the truth is known, whereas lying attempts to avoid the harm of what the truth may inflict upon themselves. Sissela Bok’s “On Truth-Telling” is a prime reading that showcases greed for power that happens in modern-day life. Through this selection, Bok outlines scenarios where deception is practiced for gain or lying is used to spare the pain the truth will cause to themselves.…

There are some things in this world that I simply can't stand. Some of the worst are getting sneezed on, people clicking pens in class, getting homework on a friday night, and when someone leaves the bag of chips on the counter open and then the chips are all soggy and stale the next time you go to eat them. There's nothing worse than a wet juicy sneeze straight to the face. One of my biggest fears/pet peeves is getting sneezed on.…

What bothers you more, always running late or eating a meal with someone that always has their mouth open? Throughout my life, I have experience so many things that bother me like people chewing with their mouth open, or people being lazy at work while I am working hard. As well as being one of the most important life skills a person should have, exercising patience is the key to being a good, socially aware digital citizen; patience allows time for thought in place of emotion-driven action and gives a person a chance to make a meaningful contribution to online discussion. Patience is linked to being socially aware, or as Stellenbosch University defines it, “being aware of the problems that different societies and communities face on a day-to-day basis. This patience becomes instrumental when conversing with diverse groups of people online. If a person chooses to voice their opinion in a conversation or debate, they may reply too quickly and insult someone, become irritated, or not add anything of purpose to the conversation.…

A writing experience that has stood out the most for me was when I was a sophomore in High School. There was a girl in my class who I wasn't so fond of who one day decided to announce to everyone that she had begun to write her own stories. She showed everyone pieces of her writings expecting to get nothing but compliments and be to deemed the class writer, but when she finally showed me her work I cringed at how deplorable it was. The stories had no clear perspective of whether it was written in first person or third person view, some of the simplest of words were spelled wrong, and many words were used in the wrong context. The class didn't seem to care for her stories so they just gave standard responses with no words for…
