Bigger Murders Bessie by repeatedly hitting her with a brick until he can no longer hear her breathing. He also throws her out of an abandon building window. Bigger murders Bessie because he thinks that she will be a burden to him. She will keep crying and worrying and Bigger does not want to deal with that while he is trying to hide from the police. He also murders her because he cannot leave her behind, where every he goes she must go because Bessie knows what Bigger has done. Bigger thinks if he leaves her she will tell the police where Bigger is and what he has done to Mary. Bigger believes he made the right choice. He believes he made the right choice because Bessie is no longer alive to tell what happen, she is also no longer a burden
