After liberating the rest of the imprisoned girls, Jack and Wang return to his restaurant to discuss with Egg Shen how to reclaim both girls. They concoct a plan and Egg Shen reveals to them a secret entrance into the underground, and leads them and the Chang Sing through the tunnels, back to Lo Pan’s domain. Upon arrival, Egg Shen gives them all a potion that will give them the strength and energy to battle the Storms and Lo Pan, that makes them feel invincible.
Upon arrival to the marriage ceremony, they all rush in and start fighting Lo Pan’s men, disrupting the ceremony. Jack, however, in his efforts to be intimidating, discharged his gun into the air and knocked a portion of the ceiling down which promptly fell on his head and relieved him of conciseness. In the 1992 film “Tombstone” and the 1994 “Stargate,” he played the serious and focused persona of the ‘lawman,’ Wyatt Earp, and Colonel Jack O’Neil respectively. In 1992, his role as Captain Ron in the film bearing his character’s name, he was the happy go lucky ‘hero’ who helped a family who had never been on a boat before, learn how to captain their own sailboat which the father of the family had recently inherited. Finally, in his role as Ego, in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” his character’s personality was very similar to his role in “Captain Ron.” However, whereas he was the ‘hero’ of “Captain Ron,” he was the anti-hero, the villain, as Ego.
While Ego and Captain Ron shared many of the same personality traits; warm, inviting, helpful, etc., Ego’s persona of a ‘Captain Ron’-like character was just a front. Ego, a villain, was an actor, playing the role of hero.
Jack, of “Big Trouble in Little China,” was a blend of these characters.
