McMurphy is a very strong headed, Independent and open minded man. When he was first introduced into the mental hospital all of the patients were very curious and unsure on who this guy was and what his intentions were. The nurses and black boy’s struggled to get McMurphy to follow the rules that have been established before he arrived. McMurphy establishes his very strong headed behavior when the nurse insists he must follow the rules. He rejected her with saying “Ya Know, that is the ex-act thing somebody always tells me about the rules… Just when they figure out i'm the dead opposite.” (26) The Nurses were scared to see what will happen with McMurphy and his strong mentality. He does this by antagonizing her with situations that make her uncomfortable like only being in a towel in front of her and making seual jokes to her. ””Our dear Miss Ratched? They suggested baseball and even though the vote was everyone, Big Nurse shut down the problem by making a ridiculous excuse. This is similar to the political election today as well. During the election the popular vote was for Hillary Clinton and the Electoral vote was for Donald Trump. Like the popular vote in the story that was for watching baseball, Hillary Clinton lost. The two situations were majority votes and since both the government and Big Nurse have more power, nothing will change unless they are
