Big Macs are one of McDonald’s biggest selling sandwich. It is considered a classic and even is placed as the first menu item. Building a Big Mac is easy, but it is important to remain consistent for quality assurance for guests and to maintain food costs related to the sandwich.

Before beginning to build a Big Mac in the Mcdonald’s kitchen, the supplies are needed:
1.
The bun toaster.

This machine takes 20 minutes to heat up and provided the correct toasting of buns when calibrated correctly. If it is calibrated incorrectly, the best thing to do is look up how to adjust the calibration in the user manual.

The HLZ or heated landing zone.

This bun is still located on top of the top bun.

After the pickles, .53 ounces of McDonald’s shredded lettuce is gently mounded on top of the middle and bottom buns. The goal is to place the lettuce so it does not fall off the side of the buns and fill the box.

Once slice of McDonald’s cheddar cheese is carefully laid on the mound of lettuce on the bottom bun. With this cheese the corners of the cheese should point to the straight sides of the box.

Now, two of the already cooked meats are assembled. One is placed on the mound of lettuce on the middle bun and the other is on top the cheese. The meat needs to be centered to ensure it does not push any other condiments off.

Now, the middle bun and it's condiments is carefully lifted on to the bottom bun. The meat should still be facing up and seen at this point. The middle bun is simply transferred from covering the top bun to covering the bottom bun.

10.
The top bun is gently flipped onto the middle to finish the sandwich. At this point, the sesame seeds on the top bun are seen and there should be no condiments spilling off the edges.
