One similarity between Big Island and Oahu is that they both have been hit by tsunamis. Sure the Big Island was hit harder, but both Islands have been hit by them. Another example of a similarity between the two islands are that they both have volcanic mountains. Some of the mountains on the island of Oahu are Tantalus, Diamond Head, and Ko’olau Range. Some examples of the volcanic mountains on the Big Island are Mauna Loa, Kilauea, and Mauna Kea. Also, another similarity is that both Big Island and Oahu have natural beaches. On Big Island some examples of natural beaches are Kehena Black Sand Beach, Kekaha Kai State Park, and Makalawena Beach.
In conclusion, Big Island and Oahu have many differences and similarities, but in the end they are all a part of the hawaiian islands. With the island of Hawaii being the only island with a lava tube it creates a uniqueness that shows how each island has its own special qualities. Both islands have some of the same breathtaking qualities, but also have their differences which make them even more memorable to visit.
