Big Idea: Philippians 2:1-4 a great verse that explains Christs perfect love. If we are truly following the Lord then we should be able to humbly share God’s love from the depths of our hearts as lead by Jesus’s example. This verse really spoke to me when I read it. It caused me to reflect. If we really are living in Christ’s love then we should be able to share his love out of our inner hearts with the interest of helping others. We should be a reflection of God’s kindness and love. However, how many of us actually do this one hundred percent of the time? Not many.
Takeaways: I received many different takeaways from this passage. The number one thing that really surprised me and changed my mentality was when the passage talked about how God really cares for the condition of our hearts. In Proverbs 27:19 it says, "As in water face reflects face, so the heart of man reflects man." Our hidden motives we have hidden in the depths of our hearts tells God everything he needs to know about us. If we do not first seek him in our own lives he cannot dwell in us. If God is not dwelling among us, we are not able to share with others his love and kindness. Therefore, it is important to constantly be seeking an active relationship with him. Once, we have achieved this relationship we can share God’s love. He will guide us as he knows our true intentions and our deepest parts of our hearts we keep hidden from the world. Once we are grounded in this truth we are finally living out this verse.
