Big Five Personality Test

When taking the Big Five Personality Test, I scored a 50 in extroversion, 39 in emotional stability, 67 in agreeableness, 84 in conscientiousness, and 23 in intellect/imagination. According to the results I am neither an outgoing or shut in person, I range about 50/50 with my sociable skills. I am on the low side of emotional stability, but was scored as friendly, optimistic, careful, diligent, and tend to be conventional when it comes to imagination. With these results, I was surprised that my score was low for emotional stability because I feel like I have stable emotions, minus stress related factors. My results were accurate in a way that I am an organized person who tends to talk a lot, but not try to be the center of attention as if I

Assessments are designed to determine whether there is a problem, distinguish an individual strengths and weaknesses, predict the future course of disorders, classify the problem and provide useful tips for intervention. Clinicians use these ideas to assess the clients’ behavior by a set of guided questions. The Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI) is a self-administered tool that provides information relevant to the clinical diagnosis, treatment and screenings for psychopathology (Morey, 2012). This assessment was created as an alternative to the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory that was designed to assess abnormal personality traits. The PAI was designed to be easily scored by hand and is characterized by a 344 item Likert scale…

I find that the sixteen personalities test was more accurate for me because tests with more questions and outcomes would become more accurate. According to the sixteen personalities test, I am a “Defender” The personality exactly explains me with these quotes, “Excellent analytical abilities.” and “Found in lines of work with a sense of history behind” This would be true because I gathered nine of my friends and surrounded a bully while I went and got the teacher, this all happened in second…

I also found that based on my results, in my opinion, they were true in result of my character as well. The personality test measures what it claims to be “the current model accounting for the majority of our personality traits and can often predict with a high degree of confidence how we are likely to behave in specific circumstances” (16personalities.com). With that being said, regardless on what category we fall under our actions are also altered by the environment, people, personal goals, and experience. Although I did find myself become skeptic due to the fact of how do they know my personality based on just answering 60 general questions on whether I strongly agree or…

Moreover, the symbolism of the bell jar poignantly struck me. Bell jars are inverted glass jars used to display a specimen of curiosity in an unchanging, oppressive environment. For Esther, her madness is a bell jar. She feels like she is a foreign, rare creature people talk about, but never understand. I felt the same.…

Demographic similarity theory describes individuals who receive information and determine the similarity, either demographic attributes or personal traits, they think they are comparing to others. This theory is based on Social Identity Theory where decision makers tend to group themselves and others or, at least, creating their own social identities of themselves comparative to others and giving positive or negative evaluations to different categories (Dovido & Hebl, 2005; Tajfel, 1982; Tajfel & Turner, 1986). In general, decision makers are consistently rating persons from their own groups higher than people from other groups (Goldberg, 2005). To sustain a positive sense of identity and reduce cognitive disagreement, managers will give positive…

The purpose of the first part was to observe pre-existing group differences based on participants’ results on the Big Five personality test and then compare that to the major they have chosen. The purpose of the second part of the study was to return to participants six and a half years later to observe the validity and predictive ability of the Big Five test, and their relationship to the individuals’ major and grade point average. Various hypotheses were proposed based on variables such as gender and major. To name a few, it was hypothesized that female students would score higher than male students on neuroticism, extraversion, agreeableness, and conscientiousness (Vadel, Thomsen, and Larsen, 2015). It was also hypothesized that conscientiousness would be more strongly associated with psychology students and their grade point average than any other major (Vadel, Thomsen, and Larsen, 2015).…

Personality Tests and Their Purpose According to the textbook, Life-Span Human Development, 7th edition, by Carol Sigelman, on page 348, “personality is often defined as an organized combination of attributes, motives, values, and behaviors unique to each individual.” By now, most people have come to realize that each individual they encounter is distinctive from them, and rarely resembles another human being they have confronted. In this essay, I will be discussing how personality contributes to an individual’s lifestyle. Through different online tests that I have recently taken, I will explain how different personality types influence how one behaves, and reacts to different scenarios.…
