Big Five Personality Test

For the most part, the results of the Big Five personality test were similar to what I thought they would be and what other tests have said about my personality and included areas in which I desire to improve to become a better leader ("The Big Five Project - Personality Test"). I scored high in conscientious and neuroticism and low in agreeableness, extroversion, and openness to experience/intellect. Not surprising to me were the scores for conscientiousness and extroversion. The high score reflects that I continually strive to be organized, careful, and self-disciplined, and a key part of the work I do with high-risk students relies on my students being able to depend on me. The low score in extroversion is also consistent with the self-knowledge that I am an introvert and tend to be reserved and quiet. Both of these personality traits enhance my ability to lead my classroom and students in the adult education environment. To teach almost two hundred students over a period of a year concepts which span from kindergarten through high school, I have be organized with the ability to create a plan for each student to meet their individual needs and self-disciplined to sustain it throughout the year in order to get students in and out the door in as short amount of time as …show more content…

In my future career, I would be open to new ways of doing things but would be very critical in the way it is done. Conscientiousness High…

Personality indicators or assessments can be an eye opener for a person who is not completely knowledgeable or truthful about his or her own personality traits. Personalities do tend to differ based on the various things such as the time of the week, time of the day, awareness, and even physical appearances. Personally, I feel my personality is acceptable and can improve, but with the help of a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and a Big Five Personality Model, I have a new form of identity for myself. First, Robbins and Judges identified extraverted individuals as “outgoing, sociable, and assertive” and introverted individuals as “quiet and shy”. Prior to taking the indicators and assessments I would have identified myself as both in some ways…

Others the results were right on target and the test described me very accurately. As I mentioned I am a reserved person that I select when I will allow myself to be the center of attention and be part of the spotlight. Not only was this assignment interesting, but extremely informative, as well. While I have always known my personality type from Myers-Briggs, I had never actually sat down and analyzed much of it or even my leadership skills, for that matter. As for my leadership skills, they have always been lacking, as I tend to be a pleaser as opposed to being one that feels comfortable having control – it is intimidating and daunting to me. Nevertheless, this is not to be an assessment, but rather an evaluation and here are the results I have found.…
