This fact is insane with all the massive warships the U.S has at sea for the USS Enterprise to be the largest is just incredible. She was re-delivered to the US Navy in April 2010. The maintenance cost at the time of delivery was reported to be $662m.(NavalTech n.p.) It's hard to imagine that much money let alone use it to build a warship.”When the engineers first started planning the ship’s propulsion system, they were uncertain how it would work, or even if it would work according to their theories.” Imagine if you will you're the engineers of the USS Enterprise you get 662 million dollars to make it and you don't even know if the ship will work. This was a gigantic risk by the government to make something that wasn’t even certain it could go to sea. After the Enterprise hit the sea the government started asking for more and more nuclear powered aircraft carriers the Enterprise started the way we build aircraft carriers to this day. When the Enterprise was deactivated in 2012 America thought the Big E had no more to contribute to the country but they were wrong in more ways than one. USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65) will continue to serve on as more than $100 million of her equipment is reused and installed aboard NIMITZ and FORD class aircraft carriers. (navy line n.p.) The Enterprise is helping America once again by recycling! But we need another carrier at sea what will replace our old friend the Enterprise. Currently the Gerald R. Ford is being built to replace the Enterprise (navy line n.p.). Even tho the USS Enterprise is decommissioned it will still help us for years on end.
The enterprise had tons of surprises hidden within its’ metal walls. From it supposed to be lasting for a mere 25 years to the fact that it was so influential in
