One of the goals of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America is to foster the ability of children to rise above their circumstances and to realize their potential. It is also a goal to provide a role model, a friend, and a family member to these children. They ultimately want to build these kids and communities up to give them chances they wouldn’t get otherwise.
2. How does Purdue Big Brothers Big Sisters support the local office of BBBS?
To support the local office of BBBS, Purdue BBBS raises funds for matches, hosts events for the unmatched littles, and educates college kids on what BBBS is and the potential of being a big.
3. What is your favorite part of being a member of Purdue Big Brothers Big Sisters?
My favorite part of Purdue BBBS is the chance to spend time with the unmatched littles and to be able to give them the tools and support they need to rise above their circumstances. It’s safe place they can just be a kid.

I’m willing to commit 4 hours a week to Purdue BBBS, but if there are weeks with events or chalkings, I am prepared to commit more.

I was responsible getting a group of students acquainted with Purdue and what it was like to be in college. I was a mentor, a friend, and a support system. I am currently a new member mentor for PUDM. It is my job to support and guide the students through their first experience with PUDM and help them find their passion. I have also been fundraising chair, new member social, and work manager for my cooperative house. As social, I contacted other cooperatives to set up social events for our houses to mingle. As work manager, I made sure that all the chores were done on time and properly so our house stayed
