Throughout this project, we as a group will be accountable to Jenny Bates of Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters. At the end of this project, we will we accountable to the whole Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.
Mission
Tigers in Blue is working with Big Brothers Big Sisters to create a positive relationship between law enforcement and children of the community. This program will give children, as well as all members of the community, a positive view of the law enforcement who serve them. Law enforcement members will be able to interact with the children and community in a different and possibly more impactful way than in the past.

We are very excited with the progress we have made as bigs from all departments are connecting with littles from all different backgrounds of life. There aren’t many connections yet but we can see obvious progress towards long lasting relationships between departments, schools, and the community. We have also begun to market Kansas Big Brother Big Sisters through various different marketing techniques including social media, word of mouth, radio, newspaper and other sources. Through KBBBS we have connections to Eagle communications which has helped us a lot in the marketing aspect of the project. As we come together for one last time at the end of the semester we gather at a picnic involving KBBBS, bigs, littles, and the leadership team. This picnic is bittersweet but everyone is so excited and so happy with how far Bigs in Blue has come. We spend an afternoon celebrating and conversing, eating good food, and getting to know each other better. Once the afternoon is over we can be satisfied with our community project, knowing we have given Bigs in Blue a great start. As the years go by we hope Hays Bigs in Blue will continue to grow and turn into something better than we could have ever
