The movie the House of Fog and Sand we watched in class dealt with the four worldviews around the world: Secular, Theo centric, Anthropocentric, and Cosmo centric. I connected three of the characters in the movie to three of the worldviews and related them as to how worldviews can change your prospective on people around the world. Secular worldview centres on money, science and technology. Theo centric worldview focuses on the relationship with God and the character; Mr. Behrani showed that he had a Theo centric worldview. Anthropocentric worldview is all about human relationships and always relying on people, I connected the character Kathy as having a Theo centric worldview. Lastly, Mrs. Behrani had a Cosmo centric worldview and that is a relationship centering on nature. Each person has a distinct worldview depending on their experiences and culture, and at times when these worldviews come together, they create strife and chaos in a person’s life.

Mrs. Behrani had a Cosmo centric worldview in the movie; she focused on nature and their taboos in their culture. For instance, when Kathy accidently stepped on nails outside of the house, Mrs. Behrani made it her duty to help her even thought they weren’t on good terms. She put a bag on Kathy’s foot so she wouldn’t get blood on the floor, and she let Kathy use her expensive towel to clean her foot. Another example would be near the end of the movie when Kathy tried to kill herself; Mrs. Behrani made her feel as comfortable as possible and made her tea.
