Biblical Story Assignment As Christian story comes to close, it is now time to look back and reflect on all I’ve learned, especially from Bernhard W. Anderson in his book The Unfolding Drama of the Bible. In this book, Anderson explains that the drama occurs in three main acts. Act 1 The Formation of God’s people, Act 2 The Re-formation of God’s people, and Act 3 The transformation of God’s people. For this paper, I have chosen to talk about Act 3 and highlight some key events that take place. In my mind, Jesus is clearly the obvious main character in Act 3 and the way he lived his life is extremely eye opening. Jesus, who was born of the virgin Mary as it says in Luke chapter 2, lived nothing short of an extraordinary life-even though his life was cut short. In the Last Supper, which is mentioned in all four of the gospels, Jesus sits down and explains to his disciples the events that were going to take place in the near future. While Jesus knew who was to turn against him that did not stop him from sharing one last meal with them. Jesus himself knew that this would be his end as he says “the son of man will go just as it is written about him” (Luke 26:24) A transformation happened for all that were in the room as thoughts of the future I’m sure seemed unreal as the biggest change to ever happen was about to occur. I think of the disciples as they thought about which one was going to betray their beloved Lord and how terrifying of a thought it must have been. After that night, nothing was ever going to be the same again. Not for them or anyone. Life as they knew it and life as we know it was about to change and transform into something
