Sherry,

You wrote some good information on your DB post on the Bible and it’s prophecy. I would like to start off saying the Bible contains various types of prophecies. Prophecies that comes to pass in a single generation can be true, but many not constitute proof to a later generation. A funny thing happens when the Bible is believed. Growing up, I would hear about how in history people thought the world was coming to an end, time after time. I would see on television numbers of preachers who was using television to their advantage to tell about how they knew the prophecies of the Bible. They seem to have a particular understanding of who when, how and why’s of what God supposedly predicted. Since God cannot tell a lie or mislead people,

You certainly have a misconception of the Holy Bible, while it's the only book that answers almost every aspect of life's questions and beyond. one third of the Bible is actually devoted to prophecy and 90% of it is destine for the time of the END; our days ahead of us now. In Fee chapter ten he is explaining how we should read and interpret the covenant that was given to Israel. There are four major prophets and there is a number of minor prophets. Prophecy is typically misunderstood by the function and form. Fee also explains that the prophets primarily gave prophecy which was to speak for God to his people. Another issue we have when we read prophecy in the Old Covenant is because of the historical distance.…

4:6) and it will be this same Jesus who will return and fill the house of God on earth; this is what the prophet sees in his vision (Ezekiel 43:1-5), and not only will His glory fill the house, but will also fulfill these words of the Lord Jesus “"As I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the only Begotten." (Numbers 14:21) For those who believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, also believe that all of the prophecies are accurate. Those who consider it as a failed prophecy, perhaps never considered the fact that God’s promises are conditional. When people fail to meet the conditions; then they fail to activate the promise, likewise, when they meet the conditions, they will see the promise come to pass.…

The Interpretation of Old Testament Prophecy in the New Testament Ever since the beginning of Christianity, there has been the age-old debate between some Christian scholars concerning the interpretation of the Old Testament (OT) prophecy in the New Testament (NT), and whether or not such interpretation is valid. Perhaps, such disagreement might be the reason for the various sects of Christianity and why some of the Jewish faith still holds true to the OT belief system. Notwithstanding, one fact still remains the same and cannot be ignored, that is the fact that the NT does reflect OT prophesies, and in some cases, through literal reflection (verbatim). In order to grasp this concept, one has to start out by understanding the meaning and purpose…

The prophets in the Old Testament were people who profoundly understood the relationship between God and His people through the Covenant. They were touched with the Holy Spirit (Num 11:29, Num 27:18) so that they could provide counseling and guidance to God’s people in the Old Testament, until the pouring out of the Holy Spirit after the cross (Joel 2:28) when each of us is a prophet. In other words, each of us has within us, the ability to understand what is expected of us, and how to “get back on track,” through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. A “compliance attorney” sounds like someone who has extensive knowledge regarding the law and how to follow it.…
