Bible Prophecy

Christians believe that there will be an end of the world where Christ returns to earth to take his faithful followers. However, our world today is far different. With the advance technology and the many religions there is out there, people are misguided with the true meaning of the prophecy. I personally think that Biblical prophecy is neither future telling or fortune telling. Prophecy is in fact something significantly different from those things. Although the Israelite prophets occasionally dabbled in fortune telling their emphasis was always on the present situation. Prophecy is in fact something significantly different from those things. My understanding of a prophecy is forth telling, a spokesperson or representative for God. Its main emphasis is not necessarily on predictions but on preaching’s. The Bible, in many areas, describes what the tribulation is. The author, Todd Strandberg, analyzes the tribulation through both the Old and New testament. He explains how the …show more content…
His message ties in well with the theme we continue to learn in class, that is God rewards the good deeds, and punishes evil deeds. Tribulation seems to be a time of great suffering, and we can see it already taking place in the world today. Religion for example, the freedom to worship is not recognized or accepted in many countries. You have non-believers who mock those who practice their faith in Jesus. This, I see is also a form of tribulation. With all that said, tribulation and rapture will be a time of great pain. But all that pain can be avoided if one puts their trust in the Lord. I think that is what author tries to convey at the end. Things are going to get worse before it gets better, but people should not give up on their faith. Trusting in God, is all that it takes to be

This book was The Bible, which also provided a reason for The Tribulations in the form of “The Rapture.” The Rapture depicts a future where the sinners are left to die on Earth as the good people rise above to heaven. The sinners go through literal hell, which is what the Earth becomes. The Devil is present during this time, and there isn’t much hope for humanity. This describes the Tribulations perfectly for the people of Waknuk.…

The word ‘soon’ can imply that things will come, whether it comes quickly or with delay. The bible has already predicted events that have happened, and the book of Revelation prepares us for what has not yet started. The troubles with prophecies is that they tend to speak as if the end is ready to happen, however, it does not reveal when. Because of this, people are unaware of when these things could happen and may not be prepared. As described, the angel did not reveal these things to John in a simple way.…

Will, I believe we are observing numerous prophetic signs in the humanistic culture, religion, and the economy, just to name a few thatcoincides with the end time prophecies. Actually, apostasy is occurring now, moral decay, and the ongoing wars are happening right now, which are concentrated in the Middle East. As noted, Jesus forewarned of His Second Advent, but only the Father knows exactly when Jesus will return. However, we know from Scripture that the birth pains is just the beginning followed by intense struggle, conflict, and immense sufferings(Matt 24:4-8).…

Biblical Story Assignment As Christian story comes to close, it is now time to look back and reflect on all I’ve learned, especially from Bernhard W. Anderson in his book The Unfolding Drama of the Bible. In this book, Anderson explains that the drama occurs in three main acts. Act 1 The Formation of God’s people, Act 2 The Re-formation of God’s people, and Act 3 The transformation of God’s people. For this paper, I have chosen to talk about Act 3 and highlight some key events that take place.…

Often in sermons pastors persuade their audience to behave in a spiritual or moral fashion. Such is the case in "the sinners of an angry god" by Edwards, Jonathan where he educate the sinners that god can destroy sinners with ease if they do not repent. Edwards wanted to impact his audience by appealing to their fears, pity, and vanity. Edwards had a tremendous impact on his puritan audience because of his use of cautionary tone, clear imagery, and symbolic figurative language. To begin, the tone of the story is cautionary.…

The Antichrist will persecute the saints. Disagreement exists whether these saints include believers in Christ that enter the tribulation period, or whether these saints are “new” believers that come to faith during the tribulation. It all depends on one’s interpretation on the timing of the rapture — God’s removal of believers from the earth by a super-natural snatching away. Various theological interpretations regarding the rapture’s particular timing in regards to The Tribulation is beyond the scope of this book. I have always favored a pre-tribulational rapture; the removing of God’s believers before the seven-year time period known as the tribulation.…

If God has no absolute foreknowledge of events then how can He give infallible prophecies? Open theism has addressed this by defining three different types of prophecy; Conditional prophecy, predictive prophecy and fulfilment prophecy. Conditional prophecy are those prophecies thats purpose is to bring God’s people back to Him. Predictive prophecies are those that are made knowing that the outcome of the prophecy is the most likely for example the hardening of Pharaohs heart and fulfilment prophecies are those that will come true because God has willed it to be fulfilled and He will make sure that it happens i.e. That Jesus would rise after three days occurred not because God foresaw that it would take three days but because the prophecy said three days He then made it happen on the third day. These defences along with the free will defence for evil seem to be too convenient and many of the solutions to problems that arise from open theism seem more to be ways of making light of heavy philosophical issues.…

    Rapture And Tribulation

The timing of the rapture in relation to the tribulation is one of the most controversial issues in the church today. The three primary views are pre-tribulational (the rapture occurs before the tribulation), mid-tribulational (the rapture occurs at or near the mid-point of the tribulation), and post-tribulational (the rapture occurs at the end of the tribulation). A fourth view, commonly known as pre-wrath, is a slight modification of the mid-tribulational position. In eschatology, it is important to remember that almost all Christians agree on these three things: 1) there is coming a time of great tribulation such as the world has never seen, 2) after the Tribulation, Christ will return to establish His kingdom on earth, and, 3) there will be a Rapture—a translation from mortality to immortality—for believers (John 14:1-3;1 Corinthians 15:51-52; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). The question is when does the Rapture occur in relation to the Tribulation and the Second Coming of Christ?…
