We can see that God keeps his word and fulfills his promises he had made. God did this while Isreal continued to be disobedient.

B. Boaz could have not accepted Ruth because she was a Moabite. Instead, he accepted her for who she is. God accepts us for who we are not our demographics.

C. A kinsman redeemer is the next-of-kin (Maclaren). Boaz was the kinsman redeemer of Elimelech and Naomi. Boaz was able to redeem Ruth from being a widower, orphan and slavery (Hinson p.146). God is our redeemer if we follow him.

D. Ruth trusted God to lead her in the right direction. We can see how we should trust God and he will lead us in the right direction.

E. When Boaz and Ruth married, it was not the easiest marriage. They have to make the commitment to work and to stay together (Hinson p. 147).

III. Correlation

Step Seven: Ask, “How does this character’s life reflect other truths found in the Scriptures?” List and explain 3 truths from this person’s life that fit within all of the Bible. Your explanation must note how these truths fit the framework of God’s Word.

A. Truth one is that God sees us as on demographic. No race, gender or any other demographic does not matter to God. We are all one. Even though Boaz and Ruth were different they still accepted each other at

The question of character

Boaz wanted to make sure that he was able to be Ruth’s redeemer by other kinsman before marrying her. This allows us to see that Boaz did not want to take anyone elses place. He was able to protect and redeem Ruth.

C. The question of cause

Boaz was able to forgive and be able to be a kinsman redeemer. He was able to revived the lineage by having Obed, who would be King David’s grandfather.

D. The question of discernment

Boaz was discernment if Ruth was truly worth being redeemed and saved. Even when Ruth was loyal and faithful Boaz had concerns. We have that with everyone we come in contact with.

Ruth, who is suffering greatly after losing her husband converts to Judaism, “…your people shall be my people, and your God my God. Where you die, I will die…” (Ruth 1:16). Boaz recognized that Ruth had surrendered to God when he says, “I have been fully informed of all that you have done for your mother-in-law after the death of your husband, how you left your father and mother and the land of your birth and came to a people you had not known yesterday or previously.…

People are always looking for their identity, whether it’s the one their parents created for them, or the one they built for themselves. Humans want to know their identity, just as the Ruth and James in The Color of Water, by James McBride, wanted. The book is called the Color of Water because James asked his mother, Ruth, if God was black or white, and she responded that “God is the color of water. Water doesn’t have a color” 1. This is a pinnacle moment because it shows the reader that identity may not only be about the color of one’s skin, but also the disposition of a person.…

It says in Ruth 4:4, that God blesses Ruth with a son named Obed, and through Obed came David. One thing to remember is in Deuteronomy 25:6, it says that the first child born in a levirate marriage is to be the child Ruth’s first husband. Which means that Obed is really Ruth’s second son, because he is considered the son of Boaz. Some people think that’s not true and Obed is really the first born son, but Boaz being a good Jew as shown throughout the story of Ruth, is unlikely to skip over the fact that Naomi still needs an heir to take care of her and for Naomi to give the inheritance away.…
