Biases in Media
The news media is being purposely biased, perpetuating the unfavorable political atmosphere that exists in the United States as a whole. It goes without saying that the year has been filled with more than its fair share of controversy. The news media tirelessly perpetuates the drama that currently exists on the United States political platform. I would assume most people would wondering, why I make such claims, to say that the year has been filled with so much controversy, among other accusations? The answer to these accusations is actually a quite simple one, really. In efforts to benefit themselves. Take for example when CNN, hired numerous reporters from Buzzfeed who was previously dismissed by them, to be unreliable by as a legitimate news network. “One thing that adds an extra level of irony to the hiring of BuzzFeed’s political reporting team is that CNN chief executive Jeff Zucker recently appeared to dismiss BuzzFeed as a journalistic force, implying that it wasn’t a “legitimate news organization” and that CNN “crushed” the site with its coverage” (Ingram)
There are numerous theories about media bias, but many times most are not based on founded proof. Although according to well-known researchers, there is, in fact, more to it than meets the eye. There are many positive and negatives results that can arise from having people share and actively enforce their biases but think about it rationally in other field such as science and history where bias and other preconceive notion are discourage in search of the truth since this is the mindset of the intellectual and other people who are aware of the ultimate goal of truth shouldn’t people who are not scientist understand that truth is more important that proving are furthering your own goal no matter how much you want it to be but giving truth and creating a more educated society is important, even more so than personal
