“The Allegory of the cave” written by Plato many years ago still has tons of principles that are used to this day and will still apply in all the years to come. One of the principles that I have noticed that relates to today is how it relates to politics. Like how they only see one way perspectives.
The government is filled with politicians and all of them are biased and some even corrupt. Politicians compare to the chained prisoners in Plato's “Allegory of the Cave” in the sense that they are stuck in the world of politics and only see what they think the people want to hear. They are stuck staring at marionettes (news networks) and trying their best to accommodate what they think would be best. They don’t try and listen to other people because they think their opinions are the right ones and the best ones. …show more content…
They restrain the politicians and are what keeps them in the cave or the world of politics. They can’t leave the cave or their party.
The controllers of the marionettes compare to News networks and what they report about politics. It encases our news networks with only politics and shows fake and different ideas to the politicians and the people of the country. They control everything that is seen and everyone's ideas.
All in all politics are everywhere and will always be that way. They have been here from the start and will be here until the end. Some may not be biased towards other parties but most are. I thought that Platos “Allegory of the cave” and politics were similar and a good comparison in both cases they lived a biased
