How we Discipline Discipline is something that all adults know how to do, and also any child with younger siblings as well. However, discipline in today’s society is much different than it was 50 years ago. Because of all of the specifications on how to achieve the discipline, it would be unlikely to achieve the discipline that is described. As well as adults being disciplined, your children have to be disciplined as well. “To be sure, there is still an appreciable gap between the theory of discipline as taught in colleges of education and discipline as it is actually conceived and practiced in the schools.” (Ausubel).
