B.F. Skinner, an American psychologist, philosopher and poet, was born March 20, 1904 in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania. B.F. Skinner would live 86 years where he would ultimately pass from leukemia on August 18, 1990. B.F. Skinners early life was that of any American families at the time, his father worked and his mother stayed home to look after him and his younger brother. His Younger brother who was two years younger than he, would later die at the age of 16 due to a cerebral hemorrhage CITATION KAC05 \l 1033 (Cherry, 2005). As Skinner grew older he found an interest in gadgets and inventing. Maslow later died in California on June 8, 1970 from a heart attack. Abraham Maslow was the oldest of seven children. His mother and father were Jewish immigrants from Russia. As described by himself, his child hood was “unhappy and lonely” and without friends because he was a Jewish boy in a non-Jewish neighborhood. Because of his solitude, he spent the majority of his time alone in a library buried in books. His home life was a volatile one, with his father’s constant verbal abuse. His father would not only hold high expectations, but would also berate him and tell him how unpleasant his appearance was. This emotional abuse led Maslow to believe what his father would say forcing him to keep others at a distance. When he grew older Maslow married Bertha Goodman, a woman whom was his first cousin. The two had two daughters, Ann and Ellen, and remained happily married until Maslow’s death (Emrich, N/A). When Maslow was 17 years old, in an attempt to quiet down his father, he enrolled at the community college of New York and later registered for law classes at Brooklyn Law School. Maslow soon realized that this was not for him and discontinued his attendance. Maslow transferred to Cornell University in Ithaca, New York in 1927. Discouraged Maslow re enrolled at the Community College of New York. Finally he transferred to the University of Wisconsin in 1928 where he earned his BA and his MA as well as his
