The Christian worldview is a worldview that is understood differently throughout the world. Some factors that affect the understanding of a Christian worldview are history, tradition, language and ethnicity. In this paper, I will compare the definitions and ideas of the Christian worldview in the book Hidden Worldviews by Steve Wilkins and Mark L. Sanford and the article Beyond Worldview Analysis: Insights from Hans-Georg Gadamer on Christian Scholarship by Roger P. Ebertz. In the book Hidden Worldviews, the Christian worldview in its simplest form is described as “heart” and that it completely changes all parts of a person inside and out and is based on the Word and Faith. Ebertz (2006) argues “The task of identifying the Christian worldview is a complex one, involving the interplay of Scripture, tradition, and human "natural" thought as it develops through history. For this reason, I would argue that a definitive statement of the Christian worldview is impossible.” This is in contrast with Wilkins and Sanford who believe the Christian worldview is based on the “creation, Fall, covenant, incarnation and redemption” (Wilkins S. & Sanford M. L., 2009). Through the study the two sources in this paper I have Concluded that I believe that there can be a defined description of a Christian worldview. I have learned I agree with Wilkins and Sanford that the Christian worldview is in the heart and does affect all of our being, and that it is strongly rooted in the story of our God.
